The Right to Information Act
In order to promote more transparency and accountability in every public organization, The Right to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005) has been enacted by the Parliament and has come into force from 15 June 2005. The Act applies to all States and Union Territories of India, except the State of Jammu and Kashmir. According to this act, any citizen may request information from a public authority. This Act provides the right to information for citizens for secure access to information under public authorities. All Universities and Colleges established by law made by Parliament or by State Legislature or by notification by the appropriate Government or owned, controlled, or substantially financed directly or indirectly by funds provided by the Government shall come within the meaning of a Public Authority under this Act.
As per the RTI Act, New Arts, Commerce and Science College, Parner, (MS) has constituted a committee which is responsible to for the dissemination of the information concerned with the college and conduct various activities to the public request via proper channels.
