Parner has a great historical, cultural, social and spiritual background. It is connected to well-known Supa industrial belt having industries of almost varied fields. Parner was named after Rishi Parashar, whose son Maharishi Ved Vyas wrote famous epic "Mahabharata".  It is the birthplace of Senapati Bapat, from where he continued Indian independence movement and Mulshi Satyagraha. Anna Hazare, an Indian social activist who led movements to promote rural development, anti-corruption and Jan Lokpal Bill is native of Ralegan Siddhi, 10 km away from Parner. New Arts, Commerce and Science College, Parner is the only NAAC accredited “A” grade college.

New Arts, Commerce and Science College, Parner is one of the active educational institute established in the rural area of Ahmednagar district in the form of Arts and Commerce faculties since 1977 and extended in 1992 in the form of Science faculty. It is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and functioning by the principle of participatory management in order to reach to the weaker sections of society. The college is recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) and 12(B), UGC Act 1956. It has competent and experienced teaching staff, state-of-art infrastructure, well equipped and recognized laboratories including computer labs, modern language laboratory, virtual classroom, rich central and departmental libraries, spacious reading halls, beautiful campus, hostels, guest house, well developed botanical garden, cactus garden and playgrounds. It provides quality education to the socio-economically deprived sections of society in the form 32 programmes including vocational education to satisfy the learning desires of students. The college started BVoc programmes through UGC-NSQF scheme. College participated in NIRF, ARIIA, and earned ISO 9001:2015 Certification in 2020 for 3 years. The college has 99 faculties; out of them 29 are PhD and 35 non-teaching staff. NAAC has accredited our college with “A” grade in its 3rd Cycle with 3.07 CGPA. College is identified as DST-FIST and RUSA sponsored college. The college has figured in rank band of 101-150 in the NIRF rankings 2017 released in 2017 by National Institutional Ranking Framework, Ministry of Human Resource Development and GoI. College has been recognized by 51 awards including Best Principal (2018) and Best College Award (2018) of university. The faculties are motivated by the history and thoughts of the parent institute and contributing for the continuation of education of wards of poor families along with the academic responsibilities. The college is progressing in research along with the academics and faculties have achieved excellent publications and patents. Alumni of the college have excelled, achieved 95 ranks and offering their services to various leading organizations in the capacity of prominent leaders.

The College is recipient of 14 State and 24 University 08 National and 05 International level awards during last two decades for its excellence in academic, social activities, performance of NSS, NCC, and Students Welfare Board and for its college magazine Chetana (11 University, 8 State, 6 National and an International award during last five years). The college has made a great contribution to the educational and social development of the Parner tehsil during the last four decades. Fortunately, Parner is blessed with the philosophy of social workers like Padmabhushan Anna Hazare and Popatrao Pawar. The college has a clean and beautiful campus of 11.4 acres with adequate plantation despite meagre rainfall. The academic and support facilities are spread over the campus through the state-of-the-art infrastructure built on 30 % of the campus (13476.65 sq.mtr.).

There has been continuous extension and upgradation of infrastructure in terms of classrooms, laboratories, library, gymnasium, hostels, seminar halls, auditorium, guesthouse, equipment, instruments, language laboratory, etc. The college library is one of the best centers of learning resources in the region. It has more than 50801 books, more than 3135000 e-books, 65 journals, more than 6000 e-journals and 593 CD/DVDs. The present student enrollment is 2892. The user to book ratio is 1: 20. The total number of programmes offered at present is 32 which include 17 UG, 11 PG, 04 research centers and 21 certificate courses. The college has continuously upgraded its academic profile with new academic programmes as per the need of the time and to make available the new avenues of career options to students. Most of the UG academic programmes have been subsequently extended to PG and further to research programmes to ensure progression to higher levels. During the last five years 02 UG programmes and 02 research centers have been newly introduced. College has adopted and implemented Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) across all the programmes. The college has invested enormous amount to create required infrastructure to run them efficiently. Over the years, the college has maintained its distinct position in introducing new academic programmes with immediate effect as and when designed and approved by the university. A wide range of programmes has provided greater need-based choices to the students.
